The interview will focus on how the web and social media in particular, has revolutionized the ways that businesses can generate leads and attract new customers. Aidan is a strong advocate of the need to systemize the lead generation process and to expand the sources of traffic beyond simply organic search.
According to Aidan ” Those businesses that bet the farm on ranking number one on Google are grasping at shadows and destined for failure in the long term”. Aidan makes the point that business owners must diversify their methods of customer acquisition, rather than relying on organic search alone. He goes on to say “Google is a moving target. What works for a business today may not work tomorrow and you can’t build a business on that” Instead, Aidan recommends that business owners drive traffic from multiple sources including social media, pay per click, banner advertising and traditional media.
Aidan also hold the view that it is critically important to
focus initially on building a web presence that converts unique visitors to
leads rather than simply chasing more traffic. He goes on to say “If you are
driving traffic to a website that converts poorly then it is a bit like trying
to fill a leaky bucket - you are wasting your marketing efforts."
Aidan and Yasmin will engage in a thought provoking discussion on how to maximize traffic and conversion, how to generate leads from multiple sources and how to build an online sales funnel or pipeline that will deliver quality leads in an automated fashion.
